James Clark, 1st baronet

1788–1870

Scottish naval surgeon and physician. Naval surgeon, 1809–15. Practised as a physician in Rome, 1819–26; in London, 1826–60. Physician to Prince Leopold, the duchess of Kent, Queen Victoria, and Prince Albert. Member of the senate of London University, 1838–65; served on the general medical council, 1858–60. Created baronet, 1837. FRS 1832.
