John Isaac Plummer
1845–1925
Astronomer. Astronomical clerk at Cambridge observatory, 1860; at Royal Greenwich, 1864; at Crossgate, Durham, 1867–74. Astronomer at Orwell Park observatory, Ipswich, 1874–90. Chief assistant at Hong Kong observatory, 1891–1911. Much of his work involved the measurement of cometary orbits.
