Edward John Miers

1851–1930

Zoologist. Educated at Summerfield School, Oxford, and in Lausanne. Worked as an amanuensis for John Edward Gray at the British Museum; assistant in the zoology department, 1872–85. Resigned for reasons of poor health. Produced catalogues of the Crustacea collections, including the Challenger specimens of Brachyura.
