Francis Richard Hemming
1851–89
Only son of the needle manufacturer and proprietor of Bentley Manor, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, Richard Hemming. Officer in the county militia. Lived a life of leisure, running a private yacht, entertaining lavishly, horse racing, gambling, and hare coursing. Owner of the famous greyhound Peasant Boy.
