Sheldon Amos

1835–86

Jurist. Called to the bar, 1862. Reader at the Inner Temple. Professor of jurisprudence at University College, London, from 1869; at London University from 1873. Taught at the London Working Men’s College, and the Working Women’s College, London. Served as legal advisor to the British Ambassador to the Porte in Cairo, 1883–6.
