George Bowdler Buckton

1818–1905

Chemist and entomologist. Assistant to August Wilhelm von Hofmann at the Royal College of Chemistry, London. Wrote papers on chemical subjects until 1865, when he moved to Haslemere, Surrey, and began researches that resulted in a series of monographs on British Homoptera. FRS 1867.
