Gamekeeper. Born in Manningtree, Essex. Woollen warehouseman in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, circa 1861. Police constable and assistant sheriff’s officer in Essex in the late 1860s. Imprisoned for bankruptcy, 1869–70. Commission agent in Springfield, Essex, circa 1871. Gamekeeper at Wemysshall, Cupar, Fife, from at least 1873 to 1874. Butcher and poulterer in Yester, East Lothian, circa 1881. Horse dealer, circa 1891, and commission agent, circa 1901, in Haddington, East Lothian. Died in Haddington.
