Charles Grant

1841–89

Literary critic. Studied at the University of Jena from 1859 and lectured on English literature there. Lived in Berlin from 1869 and in Naples from 1872. Frequent contributor to the Saturday Review between 1878 and 1880, when he lived in London. Lived in Carinthia for a year, and in 1888 travelled to Graz, Styria, where he died.
