Richard Henry Beddome

1830–1911

Army officer and botanist. Entered the Indian Army in 1848. Assistant conservator of forests, Madras, 1857; officiating conservator, 1860–82. Collected plants in India and Ceylon. Published Trees of Madras Presidency (1863). Fellow of Madras University, 1880.
