David Mackenzie

Author, lecturer, and landowner in Australia. Taught mathematics and natural philosophy at the Australian College, Sydney, 1834–44; also lectured at the Mechanics’ School of Arts. Profited from the discovery of Australian gold and returned to England by 1852.
