Robert Grant Haliburton

1831–1901

Canadian lawyer and ethnologist. Active in many Nova Scotian societies; founder (1862) and vice-president of the Nova Scotia Institute of the Natural Sciences. Secretary to the Nova Scotia commissioners for the International Exhibition in London, 1862. Advocated protectionism; a founding member of the Canada First Movement. Published anthropological and ethnological studies.
